Olanrewaju Femi Olagunju was born in Nigeria. He earned a B.Tech. (Hons.) in Environmental Biology from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Nigeria, in 2006, followed by an MSc in Aquatic Biology and Resource Management from the University of Exeter, UK, in 2010. Olanrewaju began his PhD in Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Iceland in January 2021.
His professional career spans over a decade as a Fisheries Officer at Nigeria's Federal Department of Fisheries, where he contributed to fisheries and aquaculture governance, management and climate change initiatives in fisheries. Olanrewaju’s doctoral research focuses on the economic assessment of aquaculture in Nigeria, emphasizing aquaculture management, policy and sustainability.
His hobbies include fisheries and aquaculture research, community service, and cultural exploration through travel.
